Yes, magicJack service comes with Call Waiting, this is a standard function and cannot be disabled.
Press the “FLASH” button on your telephone to switch between calls. If you don’t have a flash button on your telephone, tap the hang-up button.
Note: magicJack does not support caller ID in tandem with call waiting.
To modify a contact in your contact list, you must use the magicJack softphone (desktop app) while your device is connected to your computer.
Within the softphone (desktop app), right-click on the contact you wish to modify, and select Edit.

Setting Up a Conference Call
- Dial 305-848-8888
- Select the option to Set up a Conference Call and follow the prompts
You will create a password, and will be given a 10-digit code.
Distribute the code, time of call, and dial-in number (305-848-8888) to all conference call attendees. You may use the access code for any future conference calls, as well.
Joining a Conference Call
- Dial 305-848-8888
- Select the option to Join a Conference Call
- Enter the pin provided to you by the conference leader
Setting Up a Pinless Conference Number
- Login to your account at my.magicJack.com
- Under the Call Features tab, select the Pinless Conference option
- Under Would you like a FREE number for your own Pinless Conference Room? select Yes
- Select the State, Area Code, and Prefix you would like for your Pinless Conference telephone number
- Complete the order for your Free Pinless Conference number
- Select the Activate button found next to your Pinless Conference number to activate it for use
Your first Pinless Conference number is free and will remain available for 30 days from the most recent activity date. Additional Pinless Conference numbers are available for $10 USD (plus Administration Fees).
Using Your Pinless Conference Number
- Login to your account at my.magicJack.com
- Under the Call Features tab, select the Pinless Conference option
- Under your Pinless Conference number, select Manage Attendees
- Add the attendees you wish to include in your conference call
- Have your attendees call your Pinless Conference number. If the number from which they call has been added to your “Attendees” list, they will not need to enter a PIN
Note: Callers not included in the “Attendees” list will need to enter the PIN listed under the Pinless Conference option under the Call Features tab. You can edit the conference attendees list to enable or prohibit callers from joining the conference without a PIN.
To place a call using your magicjack, simply dial the 10-digit number of the party you wish to call.
NOTE: You must dial 10-digit (area code + prefix + 4 digits) for local and long distance calls; this is now common with other providers in most areas.
Yes, you will hear a traditional dial tone when you use magicJack.
Yes, magicJack is for both outbound and inbound calls and you must choose to receive each one separately.
Upon registration, you may select a traditional ten-digit telephone number with magicJack; anyone in the world can call you.
If you select a magicNumber during registration, that number will only be able to receive calls from other magicJack customers or any other number to which you place a call. The non-magicJack customers you call from a magicNumber will see a shared ten-digit number. If that displayed number is dialed by the person you called before another customer using a magicNumber, the call will be routed to your device.
Yes, the telephone connected to your magicJack will ring as it always has.
If you are using a cordless telephone system, all phones will ring as they always have in the past.
If you are using a headset with magicJack, ensure that you have selected your computer’s speakers as your option for ringing.
To do this:
- Click Menu on your magicJack SoftPhone
- Click Volume/Headset Control
- Select your speakers for Ringing
Yes, each family member or employee may have their own magicJack device with its own telephone number and line.
Please note that while you can plug multiple magicJack devices into the same router (provided you have enough ethernet ports), only one magicJack may be physically connected to a computer at one time.
Yes, calls to your magicJack device can be received (and made) on your smart phone. With magicApp, calls to your home or business will simultaneously ring on your mobile device! Simply download magicApp and log in using your magicJack account credentials.
No, magicJack does not support SIP calls or SIP phones.
You can easily receive your home telephone calls on your mobile device by downloading the magicJack free Companion App. Calls that ring on your home phone will also ring on your cell phone.
No, your computer can be turned off or the magicJack can be unplugged. Call forwarding, if enabled, will always work.
